Kindergarten Lunchroom Mommies/Daddies Orientation!

Throughout this week, I will conduct a brief Lunchroom Mommies/Daddies Orientation at 10:45 A.M. in Room 101. We will discuss the procedures and guidelines for being a volunteer in the school cafeteria, as well as the behavior modification system that is implemented in the Kindergarten classroooms. It is my hope that after this meeting, parents will feel confident as they assist during Kindergarten lunch. I look forward to meeting with all of you!

With Great Appreciation,

P.S. 132 Brings Character Education into all Classrooms!

To launch a brand new school year, P.S. 132 has implemented an innovative multi media character education program in all classrooms, Pre-K-Grade 5. Live Wire Media produces and distributes educational media for character education, youth guidance, and life skills. The materials are designed to help young people become caring, respectful, responsible people who think critically, solve problems non-violently, and make choices based on knowing and doing what is right.
Both Mrs. DeStefano & Ms. Amore deliver the character education curriculum through literacy and educational videos. The curriculum motivates students to have powerful discussions, exposes children to a variety of cultures, are highly entertaining and are research based. The first pillar of character education that the entire school community is studying is trustworthiness. It is our hope that our students will share what they learned about trustworthiness with their families. Stay tuned for our next pillar of character education.

Grand Re-Opening!

We are proud to announce the grand re-opening of our school library! This year we are fortunate enough to infuse exciting forms of media within our Library located in Room 214. Mrs. Ippolito will facilitate and guide classes as they engage in digital photography, videography, iMovie, power point, computer-based research and, of course, exploring authentic literature.
If you would like to donate books or any form of media listed above, please bring them to our Main Office. Your generosity and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to another wonderful year at P.S. 132!

Educationally Yours,
Stephanie Korotz
